Our First Book

Congratulations on our first meeting, guys! I think we all enjoyed ourselves watching Vinnie go crazy over Oreos, seeing Cai make me guess his name, being in awe of Jacob's Superman shirt being the same as mine, hearing Ben come up with my new nickname of Werewilf and trying to keep up with Finlay's list of cool horror book scenes.

Frankly, I'm exhausted!

I'm glad you all picked out books that you liked - and it was particularly cool that you all volunteered to read extracts from each of them. However, we did manage to choose our first ever Lowdham Book Group (cool name still under construction) book and it was;

Arthur Ness and the Secret of Waterwhistle, Part 1

Seeing as I wrote this book, I'm not going to lie - I'm very thrilled you chose to read it. It certainly has plenty of action, humour and scary stuff that you all seemed to like (sorry, though, Vinnie, no vampires!).

Since you'll be getting into all things Arthur Ness, you should definitely check out www.arthurness.com as well.

The Bookcase will get copies in for each of you and they'll let you know when they're ready for you to collect.

Just to expand on some of the stuff we talked about yesterday, the rules of Lowdham Book Group (cool name still under construction) are;

1. Read the first couple of chapters
2. If you don't enjoy it, don't force yourself to keep going (reading is meant to be fun, not work!)
3. Come onto this blog and talk about stuff you like in the book and stuff you don't like
4. Keep Vinnie away from Oreos
5. Enjoy yourself!

We will meet again in another half term (I'll arrange with your parents nearer the time) so until then, have a crazy time!
